Woodland Prairie Elementary offers a 50/50 Dual Immersion Program from Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 6th grade, providing students with a unique opportunity to become bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural. Our program follows a structured model where students spend 50% of their day learning in English and 50% in Spanish, ensuring balanced language development in both languages.
Program Goals:
-
Develop high levels of proficiency in both English and Spanish.
-
Achieve academic success in all content areas.
-
Cultivate cultural appreciation and global awareness.
Who Can Enroll?
The program welcomes both English speakers and Spanish speakers, fostering an inclusive and collaborative learning environment where students support each other in developing bilingual skills.
Why Choose Dual Immersion?
Research shows that bilingualism enhances cognitive skills, academic performance, and future career opportunities. Our program helps students build strong foundations in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in both languages, setting them up for lifelong success.
